Hiking
One of the really satisfying days out hiking. Dawn start in London to hike deep in to the valley of the Glenderaterra Beck, between Skiddaw (931 m.) and Blencathra (868 m.).
My day trip out from London for a hike in the South Downs National Park. Long, slow unrelenting climbs but lots of lovely textures and shapes to look out for, which (to my eye) suit b&w photography.
A walk in the woods around Nymans Gardens in the High Weald of Sussex, between Haywards Heath and Crawley.
Day trip out from London to hike along the lower slopes of Blencathra, Lonscale Fell and Skiddaw in The Lake District. A rare close encounter with a red squirrel, as startled by me as I was by this enchanting sight.
